What is a house of prayer?
The term 'House of Prayer' comes from Isaiah 56 which Jesus quotes when he clears the temple in all 4 gospels. A House of Prayer has five priorities: seeking God’s presence, praying, mission, justice and joyful celebration.
The house of prayer is facilitated by a group of people who have committed to meeting each week, eating together and praying/learning together. The emphasis is on discerning what God is calling us to do. This is not an alternative to church - everyone involved remains accountable and connected in their own congregation.
